This site, andrewhahnjr.com, is the personal website of Andrew Hahn Jr. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and what choices you have. I keep it short and plain on purpose.
What I collect
- Messages you send me. If you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address and message by email so I can reply. I do not add you to any list unless you ask.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email, comment and IP address to display the comment and filter spam. Your email is never published. Comments may be checked by an automated spam service.
- Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe, your email is shared with the newsletter service used by The Hairy Times so you can receive it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats to understand which pages people read. These tools use cookies and collect things like pages visited, approximate location, device and browser. They do not tell me who you are.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. This site uses them for analytics, to remember your cookie choices, and to keep comment and form features working. When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time.
Embedded content and links
Some pages include content or share buttons from other sites (for example social networks or my other publications). Those sites may collect data about you under their own privacy policies. Links to The Hairy Times and Sports By The Balz go to sites with their own policies.
Who I share it with
I do not sell or rent your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers that run the site (web hosting, analytics, spam protection, newsletter delivery), and only as needed for them to do that job, or when required by law.
How long it is kept
Contact messages are kept in my email for as long as they are useful for our conversation. Comments are kept until removed. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me what personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can also decline analytics cookies through the consent banner or your browser settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
