The #1 Problem in America Is Right in Front of Us

Look, we can dress this up if we want. We can map out every crisis America is juggling — economic instability, foreign policy chaos, institutional decay, constitutional erosion — and pretend they’re separate problems instead of branches of the same poisoned tree.

But the truth is simpler.

The #1 problem in America is Donald Trump. Full stop.

Not as a symbol. Not as a catalyst. As a man — and as the gravitational center of a political movement that has reorganized itself around protecting his ego rather than governing a country.

When your house is on fire, you don’t convene a panel on the metaphysics of combustion. You point at the flames and say: that’s the problem.

Every Road Leads Back to the Same Place

Start with Iran.

The previous administration built a multilateral agreement — with verification, international inspectors, and buy-in from global powers — that successfully constrained Iran’s nuclear program. It wasn’t perfect, but it was functional diplomacy.

Trump tore it up because Obama’s name was on it.

Now we’re watching a conflict escalate across the region — Iran asserting leverage in the Strait of Hormuz and Houthis disrupting the Red Sea — while Trump declares victory on social media and insists everything is going great.

This isn’t strategy. It’s improvisation with live ammunition.

The Economy Didn’t Break on Its Own

Beef prices are up. Transportation costs are crushing small businesses.

These aren’t random market flutters — they’re consequences of a trade war launched on the belief that tariffs are paid by foreign governments. They’re not. Americans pay them.

Your grocery bill is a policy decision with your name on the receipt.

I spent years running a mortgage company through the 2008 meltdown. I know what economic instability looks like when it’s structural, not accidental. I watched families lose homes because Wall Street made bets they couldn’t cover and Washington let them walk. What we’re seeing now isn’t that different — except this time, the chaos is being generated from inside the Oval Office on purpose.

Corruption Isn’t a Side Effect — It’s the Operating System

The Trump orbit has treated the federal government like a revenue stream: hotels, properties, foreign governments booking rooms they never use, and family members receiving trademark approvals while participating in diplomatic meetings.

Then there’s the handling of the Epstein files — a matter that should demand maximum transparency but instead raises questions about who benefits from keeping them sealed and why the Attorney General’s loyalty appears to run through Trump himself.

When institutions bend to protect power instead of truth, corruption isn’t an accident. It’s architecture.

A Narcissist With Nuclear Codes

Trump’s obsession with branding — passports, park passes, currency — isn’t just vanity. It’s a worldview: the country exists to validate him.

Reports of him wanting his name on cultural landmarks like the Kennedy Center and even Ford’s Theatre illustrate the same impulse: history itself must be rewritten to include him at the center.

What kind of person sees the site of a presidential assassination and thinks “needs more ME”?

This is not normal presidential behavior. It’s the psychology of a man who sees national identity as personal property.

The First Amendment Is Under Direct Pressure

A free press and free speech are foundational to democracy.

Trump’s efforts to punish critics and chill dissent aren’t theoretical — they’re active, ongoing, and aimed at reshaping the boundaries of acceptable criticism of government power.

I’ve worked in independent media. I’ve seen what happens when people with power decide certain voices shouldn’t be heard. When leaders attack the First Amendment, they’re not governing. They’re conquering.

The Midterms Are Less Than Six Weeks Away

Trump isn’t inevitable. He’s not a force of nature.

He’s The #1 problem in America is Donald Trump. Full stop.

He holds power because people gave it to him — and people can take it back.

The midterms are weeks away. The House and Senate can be flipped. Checks and balances can be restored. But only if people show up and vote.

The #1 problem in America is Trump — his division, his projection of hate, his damage to America’s global standing, and his obsession with turning the country into a branded extension of himself.

“Trump Derangement Syndrome” isn’t people overreacting. It’s people reacting normally to abnormal behavior.

The question isn’t what’s wrong with America?

The question is: how much more can we take, and what are we going to do about it?

Less than 6 weeks, folks.

Make them count.
